Clinician
Dean Markel
Dr. Dean Markel has been head of the Music Program at St. George’s School in Vancouver, Canada since 2018, where he leads a team of dedicated teachers and musicians. He began his professional career with the Muncie Symphony Orchestra and as a member of the Ball State University faculty brass quintet. As a freelance trumpet player and Brass Specialist in Dallas, Texas from 1999-2003, he had the opportunity to work with some of the finest music programs in the US and performed regularly with the renowned Dallas Wind Symphony.
An advocate for music education, Dean is the Past President of the Richmond Delta Youth Orchestra. In addition to sharing his passion for music with students, Dr. Markel is an active freelance trumpet player, clinician, and conductor.
