Echo and Exclamations by Jim Hopson
'Echo and Exclamation' begins with a lush woodwind chorale which is then echoed (with variation) by the brass. After a short bridge, the theme is reintroduced by the whole ensemble. The 'Exclamation' sections is a rousing march in Eb based on the earlier theme. The piece is designed to develop stylistic versatility, dynamic contrast and aural awareness in intermediate concert bands. Jim Hopson is an in0-demand freelance low brass player, composesr, arranger, and educator based in Vancouver, BC. Effortlessly versatile, his body of work as a performer crosses every genre and includes tours and appearances (live and recorded) all over the world. His debut album 'West Coast Nights' includes original compositions and arrangements, and is available on iTunes, CDBaby, and Amazon.
