Fanfare for Flight - Adrian Sims - Concert Band

His passion for aviation has remained with him through adulthood and has glided its way into his compositional career. If he was not a musician, Sims insists that he would be a pilot. He uses this airborne enthusiasm to navigate his audience through his newest piece for wind band. From the majestic opening measure of this fanfare, the audience will feel as though they have been gloriously lifted into the air and are soaring above the clouds. The musicians encounter a bit of flight turbulence beginning at measure 44, but the harmonies quickly turn from challenging to optimistic within moments.
